Language courses begin every Monday for all language levels, even for absolute beginners. The lessons are 60 minutes in length. In addition to small group and private instruction, you can also choose combination courses (combination of both group and individual classes). There is a maximum of 5 students per group. Depending on the course, programs are 20 through 30 hrs per week.
Special courses are generally available as one-to- one training only and prepare students for the special requirements of professional life. Field-specific vocabulary, precise formulation and fluency in speech are the main goals of these courses. In Playa del Carmen, students can take the following special courses:
- Medical Spanish
- Business Spanish
- Spanish for Tourism
Other special courses include Spanish and Diving (variety of diving packages available), Spanish and Salsa (3 dancing lessons per week in addition to your Spanish course) and Spanish and Mexican Cuisine (3 lessons per week preparing Mexican dishes, in addition to your Spanish course). Please ask us for more information on these special courses, in case you are interested!
Spanish courses are offered for all levels (beginners, elementary, low intermediate, intermediate, advanced, and superior). The courses and teaching standards meet the requirements of the joint European Curriculum, which is important for recognition at many universities.
The proficiency levels are divided into further sub-levels to ensure optimal uniformity within each class. If a student is ever dissatisfied with the class into which he has been assigned, he can of course change groups after consulting with the teacher and school directors.
The educational materials are up-to-date and mostly come from Spanish universities or from Instituto Cervantes. They are specially developed to enable fast and effective learning of Spanish as a foreign language. In order to guarantee you top quality, a wide variety of materials is used. The educational materials are made available to you free of charge for the duration of your course. All students receive a certificate of successful completion at the end of their courses.
All of the teachers are native Spanish speakers and have extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Continuous training further guarantees the teachers‘ expertise and therefore optimal learning success. A wide range of modern teaching strategies is used, supported by multimedia elements. Central to all of the courses is a strong focus on applying the language in practice.
Teachers are friendly and helpful and motivate students to participate actively during classes.
It is possible to combine your language course with volunteer work. This is a great opportunity to practise your Spanish, get to know the Mexican culture, and offer a helping hand to those in need. If you want to participate in a volunteer program, keep in mind that you need to take at least 4 weeks of Spanish and that you need to commit to minimum 2 weeks of volunteer work. Please check with us for possible volunteer projects.
The school arranges internships in Mexico year round for all fields of study. Take advantage of the school’s cooperation with numerous renowned Mexican and international businesses and organizations. You can begin an internship on every week of the year. Suitable accommodation is a very important component for an effective Spanish Program. There are various options for accommodation in Playa del Carmen.
A very popular choice of accommodation among our students is living with a host family. Students who choose this option live in carefully selected host families which are situated within 5 to 20 minutes on foot from the language school and the beach. Host families offer furnished single
and double rooms with breakfast or half board. Please note the double rooms are only for students traveling together. Prices are per person and not per room. If you are coming with a friend or partner, you are welcome to stay together in the same host family.
Many students live in our spacious shared apartments near the school. These comfortably furnished
apartments each have two or more bedrooms, a living room with TV and an adjacent kitchen, and one or more bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped. The apartments are cleaned and the bedding is changed once per week, but we kindly ask that you bring your own towels.
All apartments are within walking distance (about 10-15 minutes) of the school. You can also get to the school by using public transport; this only takes about 5 minutes.
You may book a single room, a double room or even a room with several beds. In this case you know for sure you will share your room with other students; a great way to get to know your fellow companions.
We can also arrange for you to stay in a hotel in Playa del Carmen. There is a range of hotels in different price categories. Most of the hotels are close to the beach and offer single or double rooms with the additional option of air-conditioning.
Every week, the school offers a comprehensive recreational program. You can learn more about Mexico and Playa Del Carmen during dance classes, city tours, lectures and fiestas. We will of course also take this opportunity to show you some of the best sights in town, and show you where to find good restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors.

Mexico is a country of magic, colour and great contrasts. Its archaeological sites, remnants of the rich cultures of its ancient pre-Hispanic civilization, are among the world's most impressive. The capital, Mexico-city, is the largest city in the world, but there are many small picturesque villages, breathtaking mountain views, and miles of unspoiled beaches. While some of Mexico’s cities are at the height of urban sophistication, other parts of the country feel more like a traditional half forgotten Spanish colony, with an all pervading influence of Native American culture. Don't miss the pre-Hispanic ceremonies dedicated to La Virgen de la Guadalupe, the Carnaval and the Semana Santa. These and more make Mexico the destination of travellers, adventurers, and treasure seekers
Mexico is culturally fascinating with many colonial cities and magnificent cathedrals. It also has much to offer if you are an animal or nature lover.
Whether you like to dive along superb stretches of barrier reef, lose yourself in jungle surrounding long-forgotten Mayan ruins, surf the Mexican coastline or join the Day of the Dead celebrations, you will never be short of things to do!
